Dan Ferguson Happy With Successful May, Enters June UpbeatWednesday - June - 2016
BLOOMFIELD, Ont. – June 1, 2016 – Dan Ferguson’s 2016 season is off to a hot start after one win and three consecutive top-five finishes in the month of May. The ‘Bloomfield Bullet’ drove the Kilmarnock Enterprise/Mark Heating and Cooling No.11 to a win during the Brighton Speedway season opener on April 30 and hasn’t slowed down since.
“It’s been going well. We’ve been consistent and always challenging for a win. You can’t ask for anything more than that,” Ferguson said.
The driver of the Bloomfield based operation has been at the front of the field all season long with finishes of third and fourth to accompany his victory. The good news for Ferguson fans, and the bad news for his competitors, is the No.11 team doesn’t feel it’s reached the same level as the 2015 season.
“It’s not quite there yet. We’ve been trying a few different things the last couple of weeks. Hopefully we can keep the changes going in the right direction,” Ferugson said. “We’re always good on the wet tracks and struggle on the dry. We have to make the car handle a little better than what it’s been doing.”
The strong start to the season has Ferguson and his entire team holding a positive outlook entering the month of June. The strength of their program makes it easier to battle with a long list of strong competitors.
“I always thought our class has been the most competitive. Really, you don’t know who’s going to win on any night. Everybody’s really fast. There’s six or seven guys that are bang on right now and could win any night,” Ferguson explained.
A busy month of four races is scheduled for June with the Bainer’s OilGARD Canadian Modifieds on the card at Brighton Speedway each Saturday during the month. Despite the demanding schedule, Ferguson is poised to face the challenge.
“We would like to get another feature win. I think we’ve put ourselves in a good spot every night. When you’re racing with these guys, you can’t make mistakes. If you bobble a little bit, they’re going to be right around you. You have to be on top of your game,” Ferguson added.
The new paint scheme on the No.11 has been well received by fans at the racetrack this season. Ferguson adopted fluorescent yellow in to his tradition black, white and red look.
“Everybody really likes it. It’s totally different for me. This year I decided to my car will not be the last one I letter, so I had some extra time to come up with something completely different,” Ferguson said excitedly. “People say it looks good on the track and it’s standing out. We keep the car as clean as we can so the sponsors stick out as much as possible.”
On a personal note, Ferguson is happy to reveal he and his wife Amy (Aimus) will welcome their first daughter in September.
Ferguson Motorsports will also have new t-shirts available this season. T-Shirts are available for $25 each and hoodies on special request. Please contact Dan Ferguson at firstname.lastname@example.org to request your size.
